The Dropkick Murphys are bringing their Irish heritage to the U.S. the September for the first ever Shamrock-N-Roll Festival.
The festival kicks off on Sept. 8-9 at Fenway Park in Boston and runs through Sept. 18 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. Along the way, the festival will travel to Bangor, Maine at the Bangor Waterfront on Sept. 10; the Altamont Fairgrounds in New York on Sept. 11; the Trib Total Media Amphitheatre in Pittsburgh on Sept. 12; the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio on Sept. 13; the Ntelos Wireless Pavilion in Portsmouth, Va., on Sept. 15; and the Main Street Armory in Rochester, N.Y., on Sept. 17.
Special guests Street Dogs, Chuck Ragan, The Mahones and The Parkington Sisters will also be performing at the festival.

This past March Boston rockers The Dropkick Murphys released a brand new live CD/DVD Combo “Live in Landowne.”
The concept developed as an “attempt to share the St. Patrick’s Day shows with those of us who haven’t witnessed the holiday with the Murphys.” It was recorded during a seven-show run in Boston in 2009. The final performance features an epic guest appearance by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones for the smash hit “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.”

Dropkick Murphys, aka DKM, just announced that they plan to release a new album this March!
The album, titled “LIVE ON LANDSDOWNE, BOSTON MA” will be released on March 16, 2010. It was recorded during the 2009 string of St. Patrick’s Day shows between March 12-17, 2009. The album will be available as a CD, DVD and vinyl.
The band’s official Web site says, “We have tried to capture the intensity and camaraderie of our annual hometown St. Patrick Day shows for the new album.”
They are also gearing up for a tour starting Jan. 22. The band will be in the U.S. Feb 23-March 17 before going on to Great Britain and wrapping things up in Ireland on April 22.
